  • The Amazing Acro-Cats: Keep It Weird in Austin!

    The Acro-Cats tour supports Rock Cats Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rock Cats Rescue is focused on saving cats "One Click at a Time" through cat welfare, rescue, and adoption. The Acro-Cats show promotes the importance of bonding and training cats with positive reinforcement, while also finding homes for rescued cats.

    SAFE's Touch-a-Truck

    A fun-filled event with over 6,000 kids and parents who will get the chance to touch, explore, and climb on just about any vehicle they can imagine, from fire trucks and ambulances to backhoes and bulldozers. Families will enjoy live music, and explore craft stations and a kid zone where kiddos can jump, play, and slide on open-air inflatables and so much more. All proceeds benefit nonprofit SAFE Alliance.

    46th Annual Oatmeal Festival

    In hopes of cooler weather, the small-town fest happens after Labor Day this year. It kicks off Saturday with the Run for Your Oats 5K, followed by the Grand Parade with special guests. The festival features around 80 vendors, a washer tournament, live music, a kids’ area, bake-off, pet parade, food, drinks, and more. Sunday begins with a church service on the street in downtown Bertram and closes with the Oatmeal Festival Cornhole Tournament.

    This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks.
