  • The Amazing Acro-Cats: Keep It Weird in Austin!

    The Acro-Cats tour supports Rock Cats Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rock Cats Rescue is focused on saving cats "One Click at a Time" through cat welfare, rescue, and adoption. The Acro-Cats show promotes the importance of bonding and training cats with positive reinforcement, while also finding homes for rescued cats.

    Becoming Leslie: Fundraiser Screening (2020)

    This screening of the doc on Austin's iconic activist doubles as a celebration of what would've been his 72nd birthday as well as a fundraiser for The Challenger, a newspaper giving a voice, income, and dignity to unhoused neighbors. Funds raised will go toward expanding the reach of the newspaper, and donations are welcome online if you can't make it to the event.

      The Drag Hosts Release Party for “Lady Bird” Podcast

      The Drag is celebrating the release of the Lady Bird podcast, a 12-part exploration of the life and legacy of Lady Bird Johnson. The morning will include a listening session followed by a Q&A with the podcast team. Podcast host Jade Emerson and associate producer Carly Rose will participate in the Q&A alongside The Drag founder and executive producer, Robert Quigley . The event will also include a panel of special guests who knew and worked with Lady Bird, including a special appearance from Luci Baines Johnson, Lady Bird’s daughter.

      This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks. Locations and schedules are subject to change, so check the current info online to find one near you.
