    Become a Community Climate Ambassador

    The city is seeking a diverse group of applicants to become community climate ambassadors, who will spend about 10 hours per week from August 2022 to January 2023 working on climate change and environmental justice issues. Ambassadors will be compensated at a rate of $25 per hour and will make positive changes in the community with special projects.

    Lone Star Limericks Call for Submissions

    Brush Square Museums and Brush Square Museums Foundation announce an open call to writers to submit original limericks about Texas or Austin. Pay tribute to the people, places, sights, and sounds of this great city and state by immortalizing (or gently mocking) them in verse!
    Submissions accepted through June 4; finalists voted on June 5-11

    Each year, the city prepares a plan detailing the amount of federal funding to be allocated to various housing and public service programs. Give your feedback online or at a public hearing Tue., May 10, 6:30pm, with the Community Development Commission, or Thu., June 9, 10am, with City Council.

    YMCA Early Learning Readiness Program

    A free community program for qualifying low-income families that focuses on preparing children ages 2-4 for school, while providing their caregivers with the tools to facilitate their child’s development. Classes are offered twice a week in English and Spanish and last one hour.
    English: Mondays & Wednesdays, 9am; Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30am. Spanish: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10:30am; Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9am.. Free.
