  • The Amazing Acro-Cats: Keep It Weird in Austin!

    The Acro-Cats tour supports Rock Cats Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rock Cats Rescue is focused on saving cats "One Click at a Time" through cat welfare, rescue, and adoption. The Acro-Cats show promotes the importance of bonding and training cats with positive reinforcement, while also finding homes for rescued cats.

    Laguna Gloria: The Very 'Rary

    This delightful (and very kid-friendly) fundraiser from the Contemporary Austin takes over the lawns, woods, and shoreline of Laguna Gloria with experiences that play on illusion, inspired by the park's many sculptures throughout the grounds.: Among the afternoon's highlights: Performances by Sky Candy aerialists, Glass Half Full Theater and Polly Mermaid, and the Austin School of Rock.

    Levitation

    Right before Halloween, Levitation haunts Downtown music venues Antone's, Empire Control Room & Garage, Hotel Vegas, Mohawk, Parish, Elysium, 13th Floor, and Stubb's, expanding this year to two new satellite venues: Southwest Austin electronic music destination Concourse Project and South Austin multistage event center Far Out Lounge, host of April's Psych Fest. The four-day festival includes performances from acts such as Black Angels, High on Fire, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dandy Warhols, Unwound, Badbadnotgood, Flying Lotus, and dozens more.

    Swan Songs Serenade Benefit & Gala

    Austin-area music nonprofit Swan Songs gathers donors and supporters for a benefit gala for the organization, which provides musical last wishes to those nearing the end of life. Local journalist Judy Maggio hosts, superstar musician Jackie Venson will light up the stage, and silent and live auctions offer chances to support.

    Fresh for Less Mobile Markets

    This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks. Locations and schedules are subject to change, so check the current info online to find one near you.
