    GivingTuesday With I Live Here, I Give Here

    During the worldwide celebration of generosity, use the AmplifyATX.org platform to donate to your favorite local nonprofits, where you can make an optional extra contribution to ILHIGH. They've helpfully sorted the list of 700 orgs into categories like animal services, seniors, civil rights, etc. so you can discover new ways to donate and volunteer.

      Mueller Tower Lighting

      The Mueller neighborhood welcomes one and all for the lighting of the former airport's iconic air traffic control tower, a holiday favorite for 17 years. Enjoy the spectacle along with refreshments, music, giveaways, a performance from the Northeast Early College High School Drum line, and a snowball fight. Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison lights the tower at 6:30pm.

      Austin Diaper Bank's Three Days of Giving, Three Ways to Give

      Kicking off at 1pm Monday, the diaper bank aims to collect enough supplies to help more than 8,000 families with diapers, wipes, and period supplies. You can help by bringing items to the Fill the Van Diaper Drive, donating on Giving Tuesday so your financial gift is tripled, or volunteering during the three-day campaign. Families in need of supplies can contact United Way by calling 211 or visiting 211texas.org.

      Platelet Donors Urgently Needed

      A growing community means a growing need for platelets, which are a crucial component of blood used for cancer patients, people with traumatic injuries, and pediatric transplant patients. In an effort to ramp up platelet donations, We Are Blood launched “Power Up,” a program that awards donors who donate five times by Nov. 30.
