  • The Amazing Acro-Cats: Keep It Weird in Austin!

    The Acro-Cats tour supports Rock Cats Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rock Cats Rescue is focused on saving cats "One Click at a Time" through cat welfare, rescue, and adoption. The Acro-Cats show promotes the importance of bonding and training cats with positive reinforcement, while also finding homes for rescued cats.

    Austin Humane Society Adventure Week

    Spring break is going to the dogs (and cats) at the Austin Humane Society! Young participants will spend the week exploring how animals and the humans who love them can get outside and stay active. The week kicks off with a "funniest pet" photo contest, and continues with hands-on, educational sessions including storytime, Backyard Bingo with Austin Wildlife Rescue, leash and pet bed craft tutorials, live walks with adoptable dogs, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter. On Saturday, activities will be offered in Spanish.

    Bark for the Arc

    The Arc of the Capital Area is once again joining forces with its dog therapy partner, Divine Canines, to host this virtual art auction featuring original pet-inspired art created by local artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Artwork sales will benefit the student artists, as well as virtual programs provided by The Arc of the Capital Area to Central Texans with disabilities. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to Divine Canines to help them continue free dog therapy services. You can browse the artwork and merchandise and start bidding now.

    Austin Music Foundation has announced a partnership with Major League Rugby's Austin Gilgronis to provide live music and entertainment at the matches all season. In addition to an initial donation, the Gilgronis will contribute 100% of the proceeds from opening night to AMF. The season opener features the legendary Paul Oakenfold, and future matches will include some of Austin's best entertainers.

    Hollywood’s Sistine Chapel: Sacred Sets for Stage & Screen

    Six hand-painted soundstage backdrops are on exhibit alongside artwork from the Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts. The backdrops, on loan from Texas Performing Arts at UT-Austin, were created for MGM’s 1968 papal drama, The Shoes of the Fisherman, starring Anthony Quinn. These six replicas of Renaissance masterpieces in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel were nearly discarded before being rescued in 2017.
