Travis County Judge Andy Brown and Austin Mayor Steve Adler have issued a local state of disaster for both Travis County and the city of Austin in response to severe winter weather conditions. Six hand-painted soundstage backdrops are on exhibit alongside artwork from the Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts. The backdrops, on loan from Texas Performing Arts at UT-Austin, were created for MGM’s 1968 papal drama, The Shoes of the Fisherman, starring Anthony Quinn.
