  • The Amazing Acro-Cats: Keep It Weird in Austin!

    The Acro-Cats tour supports Rock Cats Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rock Cats Rescue is focused on saving cats "One Click at a Time" through cat welfare, rescue, and adoption. The Acro-Cats show promotes the importance of bonding and training cats with positive reinforcement, while also finding homes for rescued cats.

    AAC Summer Camp for Shelter Dogs

    The Austin Animal Center needs foster parents for its summer camp program to give dogs a break from the shelter life. You don't have to have foster experience, but they do ask that you sign on for two weeks.
    Pickup is open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, 11am-7pm. Free.

    The Austin Animal Center is still overcrowded. Dogs need homes. The shelter is waiving adoption fees through July 9, and reclaim fees will also be waived July 4-9.

    Austin 60 Strong Calendar Contest

    Do you know someone who is still rockin' it at or after 60? Connected Senior Care Advantage is searching for a dozen inspirational adults ages 60-69 that are "healthy in mind and body and are contributing to Austin in some way." The winners will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges and included in a calendar photo shoot.

    Austin Séance Summer Sittings

    Venture into the gloom with séance facilitators Albert Lucio and Jake Cordero as they examine the history of the American spiritualist movement, demonstrate tools used by working mediums, and then employ those tools in a modern re-creation of an old-time séance.

    Lakeway Court: Summer Safe Harbor Amnesty Program

    Lakeway Municipal Court will dismiss Failure to Appear and Violate Promise to Appear charges under certain conditions from now through Aug. 30. Those who voluntarily turn themselves in to court staff to pay fines will not be arrested. Call Warrant Clerk Martina Brazell for more information.

    Lora Reynolds Gallery: Xavier Schipani

    Here's a striking exhibition of murals, paintings on canvas, and a sculptural installation masquerading as a public bathroom – all by that acclaimed Schipani, voted Austin's Best Muralist in 2016. This new show is, we're told, "largely a reckoning with masculinity. What is manliness? What has it meant in the past, what does it mean now, and what are its shortcomings?"
