Zach Theatre: Songs Under The Stars

Okay, these are actually popular music performances, right? Concerts, like? But maybe we can think of them as cabaret, which is theatrical, and so these "socially distant outdoor concerts, performed on the People's Plaza outside of the Topfer at ZACH," where you sit in "pods" and cabanas under the beautiful Austin sky, are represented correctly in this category of the Arts Listings? It's important! The devil is in the details, and – anyway, here are the upcoming concerts: Leslie McDonel and Olivia Nice cover iconic female singers of the Seventies (Oct. 22-25. Thu.-Sat., 7:30pm; Sun., 2:30pm); Motown Grooves has Judy R. Arnold paying tribute to Aretha Franklin, while the Platters' lead singer Kenny Williams and Soul-Man Roderick Sanford perform music from Sam and Dave, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, and more (Oct. 29-Nov. 1. Thu.-Sat., 7:30pm; Sun., 2:30pm); Chanel, the star of London’s Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, closes out this series with a tribute to the female vocalists who shaped her (Nov. 5-8. Thu.-Sat., 7:30pm; Sun., 2:30pm).
Thursdays-Sundays. Through Nov. 8. $70 for a two-person pod.
