River City Pops: Wish You Were Here
This musical group will sing and dance their way through memories of vacations past, longing for far-off places, learning what it means to find home. Featuring songs like the Go-gos' "Vacation," "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flatts, the Beach Boys' "Surfin' USA", and U2's "Beautiful Day," this show has a tune for everyone and every story.March 3-4. I See You. You're Seen.
Told from the perspective of a former little Black girl, this solo work – written and performed by Oktavea LaToi, directed by Simone Raquel Alexander – is a fusion of art, poetry, music, and movement that investigates what it means "to see and be seen, to see and be forgotten" through the lens of healing, Blackness, and self-reflection, while also challenging others who "look the other way."Through March 11.
