Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Austin Shakespeare presents Tennessee Williams’ steamy, Pulitzer-winning masterpiece of what you might call "Southern discomfort" – featuring Gwendolyn Kelso as Maggie the Cat. Directed by Ann Ciccollela. But, waithere's what our reviewer thought of the show!
    Through Dec. 2. Wed.-Sat., 7:30pm; Sun., 3pm. $25 and up.

    Love Never Dies

This is totally the professionally touring, Austin debut of Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to his (popular, Broadway-devouring) version of Phantom of the Opera. What long Chaney of events led us to this macabre apotheosis of drama we can only imagine; but here it is now, the "thrilling rollercoaster ride of intrigue, obsession, and romance," live onstage for your delight.
    Nov. 27-Dec. 2. Tue.-Fri., 8pm; Sat., 2 & 8pm; Sun., 1 & 7pm. $30 and up.

    The Merchant of Venice

This Shakespeare classic, sadly on-topic as ever, tackles the problems of anti-Semitism, misogyny, and homophobia in society. Directed by Adam L. Sussman for UT's department of theatre and dance.
Through Dec. 2. See website for times. $15-26.
