    Austin Dance Festival: Call for Artists

    The Austin Dance Festival is a modern dance festival (coming in April 2019) that produces professional showcases, a youth concert, master classes, artist interviews, pop-up community dances, and a dance-on-film screening. Artists working in the fields of modern dance, postmodern dance, and contemporary dance are invited to apply for the professional showcases. Youth companies may apply for the Youth Edition Concert. The festival is also accepting submissions to “Dance on Film.” See the website for guidelines and applications.

    Chamacos Dance Company and ProyectoTeatro present this movement-based work in which five dancers take the audience through the life of a community that uses only nonverbal signs to communicate.
    Oct. 12-14. Fri.-Sat., 8pm; Sun., 4pm. $10-20.
