    People of Color Comedy Fest

    Here's "one of the few festivals in the country that focuses on: performers of color, giving non-white audiences in particular a chance to enjoy entertainment that might otherwise not be seen outside of New York or Los Angeles." Featuring ¡ESCÁNDALO!, the improvised bilingual Spanish-English telenovela; the Lucky Chaos Lion Dance troupe; the all-black, all-male improv troupe Sugar Water Purple; Latino Comedy Project's Adrian Villegas; the incomparable Shannon Dale Stott; and your host for this two-nights-only celebration of color and comedy, Vanessa Gonzalez. Recommended!

      Austin Sketch Fest

      This 10th annual festival, happening on Memorial Day weekend, features more than 30 acts from across the country. The three-venue fest, taking over the hottest stages at ColdTowne, Fallout Theatre, and the North Door, rocks a diverse showcase of America’s best live scripted comedy from acts who are on the verge of blowing up – including this year's headliners – Ego Nwodim, Amber Ruffin, Maggie Maye, UCB Characters Welcome, and Asian AF – and so many more from everywhere that's funny.
