    Altercation Comedy Festival

Ah, that JT Habersaat's doing it again. For the third year in a row, the merry maestro of comedy mayhem has wrangled a veritable shit-ton of comics from all over the country to headline this four-night showcase of stand-up. Brian Posehn! Eddie Pepitone! Kristine Levine! And many more, yes, with all manner of celebrated local gonzos also stalking the stage in the rockin' kung-fu coffeeshop right there next to Anime Pop. And – hallelujah! – there's even gonna be a Comedy Brunch with those holier-than-anybody McCuewans.
    Wed.-Sat., Sept. 26-29. $8-475.

    Bryson Brown & Friends

"I just want err'body to feel comfortable." This local stand-up is smooth. He's laid-back. So he's, what, kind of like McConaughey but with a really deep tan – and funny as hell? He's definitely funny, and his show tonight is rich with talent.
    Wed., Sept. 26, 8pm. $12-17.

Yes, there's Sugar Water Purple on Wednesday nights. And this Thursday features Friends For Now, a daring supergroup of improv, and then the sketch shenanigans of Pendulum. Friday brings Movie Riot and the laugh-inducing ladies of Loverboy and that Live at ColdTowne stand-up showcase hosted by Carina Magyar. Then there's Saturday, with the Dave Buckman-directed Roast of St. Nick and the love-stinks larking of Missed Connections ATX, followed by a gathering of that mysterio-hilarious Midnight Society. And Sunday's got a Stool Pigeon spieling up the laughs for you, and – see website for more.
