Didn't George Carlin, that delightful curmudgeon, once say something about how the only good part of Western religion was the music? Well, YMMV, of course; but we reckon this glorious concert will lift whatever flavor of human spirit you have. Organist Eric Mellenbruch and the St. David's choir, directed by David Stevens, present early music based on hymns from the first English-language hymnal, featuring Renaissance motets and early Baroque organ verses interspersed with the hymns themselves, as they would have been in that period.
