    The Blanton Museum

"Ed Ruscha: Drum Skins," a series of language-focused paintings that the artist completed (on the skins of drums, yes) in 2019, is currently on view, ready to percuss your rods and cones and Broca's area with textual feeling. Through Oct. 4. Also, the Blanton's Paper Vault presents "The Artist at Work," an exhibition, organized by Mairead Carney Horton from from the museum’s own collection, that examines the ways artists have performed their identities, built their reputations, and interacted with the marketplace over the last 500 years. Through Oct. 25. Note: Online art-making activities (for all ages!) can be found right here.

    Wonderspaces

Wonderspaces is "a new art show designed for a broad audience," featuring 12 installations from artists from around the world, now glorifying one 28,000-square-foot venue. And new artwork will rotate in starting this fall, is the deal – thus turning the space into "an ever-changing stream of extraordinary art." Of course, the most important question here is, "Is it Insta-worthy? Oh God, my dear lord, please, please let it be Insta-worthy!" Yes, yes, darlings: It's Insta-worthy AF. Mmmmkay? Now don't forget to mask up, slather some sanitizer, and be safe.
    Wed.-Thu., 5-10pm; Fri.-Sat., 4-10pm; Sun., 3-8pm. $15-24.
