  • Laundry & Bourbon with Lonestar

Laundry and Bourbon with Lonestar, two companion one act plays set in backyards of a small Texas town. Three ladies come together to talk about their life's ups and downs. Lonestar follows the life of three small town boys and the events that have shaped them. Both shows give us highs & lows with humor spread around, for good measure.

That Ron Berry and his associates have curated up an online showcase of local, national, and international performance artists, musicians, and diverse talents to galvanize your reality all weekend long. "More than 50 artists will be providing livestreamed performances, installations, studio visits, and cooking classes, as well as leading dance parties and taking part in conversations" – conversations sure to inspire your own creativity and community involvement – and we suggest you catch the action via the biggest screen you've got, art-lover, because some of this stuff will be visually spectacular. And, look – our own Robert Faires has more info for you right here.

    Virtual Vortex: Storm Still

This is a video rebroadcast of Gabrielle Reisman's 2017 play in which "three daughters gather in the backyard at dusk following the death of their father" and the whole thing begins to resonate eerily with Shakespeare's King Lear. Directed by Rudy Ramirez. And, bonus: This video's preceded by two new short plays from Ramirez's ongoing CoviDecameron Project.

Bullock Texas State History Museum: This Light of Ours

This show features images by activist photographers of the Civil Rights Movement, telling a visual story of the struggle against segregation, race-based disenfranchisement, and Jim Crow laws in the 1960s. These photos capture the day-to-day struggles of everyday citizens and their resolve in the face of violence and institutionalized discrimination – with more than a dozen additional images representing activism and protest in Austin's own history.
