    One Page Salon: Sixth Anniversary

Can you believe that Owen Egerton's been presenting this monthly literary shindig – where authors read just one page from a new work – for six years now? It's true, it's true, and this night's lineup of talents is a solid example of the literary star-power the series is known for, featuring the Go-Go's Kathy Valentine; C. Robert Cargill (of Dr. Strange fame); Amy Edwards, who knows way too much about the trouble with becoming a witch; that unstoppable spoken-word champion, Joe Brundidge, and the delightful comic duo of Janet Maykus and Tom Booker. Six years? Huzzah!
    Tue., Oct. 1, 7:30pm. Free.

    Punch Comedy

That's right, Matt Bearden's legendary Tuesday night comedy showcase returns for another year of highlighting the best talent in town. Not sure who's on the lineup – it changes from week to week, of course, and is sharply curated – but there's always Bearden, of course, and a bunch of people who can make you laugh yourself to shambles. Word to the wise: This gig sells out like whoa, so reserve tickets early.
    Tue., Dec. 3, 8pm. $7-11.
