    2018 Austin International Drag Festival

    Plunge head-first into the center of drag universe with the return of this gender-bent fest! Four full days of drag: from makeup tutorials and panels to jaw-dropping performances. Events take place all over town in the evenings, but during the day get to the Drag Village at the Holiday Inn on Middle Fiskville Road.

    A Christmas Affair

    This four-day holiday market, in its 43rd year, is presented by the Junior League of Austin. Funds raised help provide essential funding and volunteer hours to programs such as Coats for Kids, FIT-Food in Tummies, and other local community nonprofits.

    AARC: Storied and Pop Japan

    Two new art shows at the Asian American Resource Center. First, there's STORIED, in which Katherine Leung reflects the Tuvan culture in her Faces of Central Texas series, incorporating the folklore of golden light gods; and JU Salvant draws upon the personal history of a young girl’s journey from Vietnam to America for the visual story, Red Sky in the Morning. And then there's POP JAPAN, curated by Guzu Gallery's own Vincent X. Torres, presenting an array of notable characters from Japanese television, film, anime, and manga.
