Oh, my stars and little dishes of queso! The renowned astrophysicist, director of the Hayden Planetarium, and new host of Cosmos on Fox – yes, that Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson – joins the impressive line-up regaling crowds during the Interactive phase of the upcoming South By Southwest Festival.
That charming promoter-of-all-things-science, who earned his master's degree at UT Austin in the early Eighties (when he wasn't busy winning awards for Latin-style ballroom dancing) and who thoroughly edutained a packed audience at the Paramount Theatre just last month, will be at SXSW to give a sort of State of the Universe address on Saturday, March 8, from 2-3pm.
And, cherry on top of the intergalactic sundae, SXSW Film will be screening the new Cosmos in its cinematic portion of the fest.
(I know, right? Good thing I interviewed the man when I had a chance.)
And if you haven't been keeping up with the SXSW doings thus far and wanna stimulate yourself to even greater heights of keynote-speaker anticipation, here's a sweet link for your clicking-finger's pleasure.
In the meantime, we'll be searching for that One Weird Trick that'll keep some wayward asteroid with a platinum badge from obliterating the planet.
