Celebrating the premiere of 'Hey Bartender' in style

Last night in the Rainey Street District, one bar was looking just a little snappier than the others, thanks to the cast and crew of Hey Bartender celebrating their world premiere at Icenhauer's.

Hey Bartender follows the rise of the craft cocktail – something Austinites are more than familiar with, thanks to such establishments as Peché, East Side Show Room, and Midnight Cowboy – through the lens of Employees Only in New York City and Dunville's in Westport, Conn. The featured bartenders from each, including Steve Carpentieri, Steve Schneider, and Dushan Zaric, joined director Douglas Tirola and dozens of others to celebrate the premiere with a handful of carefully curated cocktails.

If you missed it, not to worry: You have another chance to catch the film Monday (4:15pm, Alamo Slaughter) or Thursday (9:30pm, Alamo Ritz), and you can re-create some of the buzz in the comfort of your own home with these recipes. (Even the resident Chronicle non-drinker approves!)
