Trailer Park: SXSW Film Day 1

Three picks (and clips) from today's screenings

So many choices and so little time, right? We've been poring over the SXSW Film schedule for weeks now, and we're still torn on what to go see. For the duration of the Fest, we'll post a few trailers for the day's films to help you make some of those tough decisions.

This is … the Trailer Park.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

Headliners, World Premiere
Friday, March 8, 7pm, Paramount

Faced with intense competition from bigger, better stars, two magicians seem to have lost their spark. Now they have to pull something really special out of their … hats … to save their act – and their friendship. Watch as Steve Carrell and Steve Buscemi work their magic in this opening night feature from director Don Scardino.

Evil Dead

Headliners, World Premiere
Friday, March 8, 9:45pm, Paramount

Thirty-two years after the original comes Fede Alvarez's much-anticipated remake of Sam Raimi's cult favorite. Say hello to eerie books, chainsaws, and enough blood to quench even the most vampiric thirsts.

Upstream Color

Festival Favorites
Friday, March 8, 6:30pm, Stateside

Shane Carruth returns to the big screen almost a decade after he made his premiere with Primer, a challenging film about time travel made on an incredibly tight budget. This time, he's bringing a challenging romance/thriller/sci-fi film that had everyone buzzing at Sundance.
