No shocker, the nation's No. 2 team, the Texas Rollergirls reign in the South-Central region.

Recently, Texecutioner and Chronicle cover star Bloody Mary said she wished more people appreciated the importance of Austin's Texas Rollergirls to modern flat track derby. Looks like she got her wish. Yesterday (after a great performance in the council chamber by Vanessa Lively), Mayor Lee Leffingwell proclaimed Dec. 18, 2009 as Texas Rollergirl Day.

Lincoln, NEone?
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association 2009 nationals are still a fresh memory but, as noted in last week's flat-track Roller Derby feature, the WFTDA has confirmed that next year's finals, the Uproar on the Lakeshore, will be held in Chicago, Nov. 12-14, 2010. Now the locations for the four regionals have been confirmed.
