Where in Austin to Watch the World Cup

And get food and drinks while you do

Every four years, soccer fans rejoice in the global sporting union that is the World Cup. This year, the FIFA World Cup takes place in Qatar from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18. Regardless of which of the 32 teams you choose to support, make sure you know which Austin bars and restaurants will be televising the event so you can find kindred fútbol friends.

Jack & Ginger's Irish Pub

11500-B Rock Rose Ave.

This Irish Pub will be serving up pints for all World Cup matches and plans to open early. Check out their Facebook for more information leading up to the games.

Scholz Garten

1607 San Jacinto Blvd.

The old-school German joint will show every match where Germany and the U.S. plays. Schedules for these matches and any potential changes or additions can be found on their calendar.


2310 Manor Rd.

Sandwiches, beer, and soccer: To experience this trinity, head out to Haymaker. This joint is the official watch party hub of the American Outlaws, a nonprofit group to support U.S. soccer. The bar will be opening early for the games throughout the entire tournament. Check out their Instagram for updated information.

With three locations around town, Easy Tiger will show the matches on its expansive patios and plans to adjust their hours to show the U.S. matches. For more information, check out their Instagram or calendar 48 hours in advance of your anticipated match.

B.D. Riley’s

1905 Aldrich St #130

You can bet this Irish pub will be open for spectators to cheer on during the World Cup. The popular hub for Liverpool fans will be opening early to show select matches. Check out their website and Facebook for more information on which games to catch.

Oskar Blues Brewery

10420 Metric Blvd. #150

Grab an IPA at the Taproom at Oskar Blues where a number of matches will be shown. Check out their website for more information.

The Boat ATX

10931 Stonelake Blvd.

If you’re crying for Cajun food, head out to the Boat ATX where FIFA matches will be playing all tournament long. Check out their website for more information.

Black Sheep Lodge

2108 S. Lamar Blvd.

Burgers and beer? Sign us up. Black Sheep Lodge will be showing World Cup matches throughout the month and will open early for select matches. Check their website and Facebook for updates closer to the matches.

The Tavern

With over 30 TV screens, you won’t be missing any of the action at this sports bar. The Tavern will put on any game at request and will open at 10am for select early matches. To keep up with which matches will be on early, checkout their sports calendar.

Meanwhile Brewing Co

3901 Promontory Point Dr.

Can’t get enough of local Austin brews? Head to Meanwhile Brewing Co where USA games will be streamed. US matches against Wales, England, and Iran will all be streamed at 1 pm on game days. Additional matches may be added throughout the month. Checkout the Meanwhile Brewing events website or Instagram for more information and updates.

Little Woodrow's

Various locations

All branches of this renowned bar will be showing the World Cup games during normal hours. For U.S. matches, Little Woodrow’s plans to open early/late to account for time differences.

Crown & Anchor Pub

2911 San Jacinto Blvd.

This neighborhood pub will be showing all of the games during regular hours. No sound will be on until the semifinals.

Plucker’s Wing Bar

Various locations

This popular wings chain will be showing the World Cup throughout the month during regular hours.

Cover 2 and Cover 3

13701 Research Blvd.
2700 W Anderson Ln. #202

The sister restaurants Cover 2 and Cover 3 will be showing the World Cup games on request. For a more upscale experience, head to Cover 3. For a more relaxed and buzzy sports bar experience, head to Cover 2. Both will be operating under regular hours. Burnet Go-To

This Austin Chronicle 2022 Best of Austin winner opens at 7am every day for all matches and will host U.S. group stage matches at 1pm on Nov. 21 (vs. Wales), Nov. 25 (vs. England), and Nov. 29 (vs. Iran). Beer and food specials for all matches.
