Who doesn't love the NBA draft?! From Madison Square Garden, the best and brightest prospects are selected for their new careers as NBA players. For those lucky 60 or so young ballplayers, life is sweet. But for the rest of the professional hopefuls, their dreams must come true on a different day, and for many, that day comes now.
Tonight is the NBDL draft, and not only can you watch the excitement unfold, you can do so in person with the organization as they actually make their picks. The draft event could be the biggest basketball draft-related party in the history of Cedar Park. It will certainly feel like you're a part of the team, being right there in the mix as new Toros players watch their dreams come true.
Fans can join Toros Head Coach Brad Jones and staff, along with the Capital City Dancers and Da Bull for the 2011 NBA D-League Draft tonight at Big Daddy’s Burgers and Bar located at 9070 Research Blvd. #101 in Austin. Selections begin at 6pm and the Toros have the second pick. The draft party begins at 5:30pm and is open to the public.
With all the excitement in the air for Toro basketball (with the season tipping off on November 26), it comes as a great honor to announce that tickets are currently available for all Toros home games. Check the website, austintoros.com, for more details. Who needs the NBA? This is Toros town!
[Update: Austin Toros trade first pick for Texas Legends’ Justin Dentmon.]
