Remarkable win yesterday for the St. Edward's women, who scored on their only three shots of the game to upset the unbeaten, untied, and second-ranked Central Missouri Jennies, 3-2, to advance to the NCAA Elite 8. They'll host UC San Diego at 1pm Sat., Nov. 20, 1pm (that's tomorrow) at SEU Soccer Field for a spot in next weekend's Final Four in Louisville, Ky.
Central Missouri came in at 18-0 on the year, with an eight-game shutout streak, and had allowed just two goals in the last 14 games. But St. Edward's scored on their only three shots of the game, the first by freshman Rachel Murray, and the last two, including the game-winner, coming from substitute Brianna Hinnenkamp. UC San Diego: Saturday, Nov. 20, 1pm, on the same field. $10, adults; $5, students and seniors; $2, kids 2-12.
