Aztex face playoff elimination

The Austin Aztex face playoff elimination tonight, needing at least a two-goal win over the Montreal Impact to keep their season alive. The Aztex's first-ever playoff game is at 7:30 Saturday night at House Park. Hope the noise doesn't disturb the partying across the river.

The Aztex fell into this predicament by losing to the Impact 2-0 in Montreal on Wednesday – playing one of their worst games of the year in a pouring rainstorm, and being victimized twice by Ali Gerba, Montreal's electrifying 20-year-old Cameroonian-born striker.

In other Division 2 playoff action, none of the higher-seeded teams were able to pull off a win on the road, though Carolina managed a scoreless tie in Minnesota. The return legs are tonight, and in Portland tomorrow night.
First leg results:
NSC Minnesota Stars 0, Carolina RailHawks 0
Puerto Rico Islanders 2, Rochester Rhinos 0
Vancouver Whitecaps 2, Portland Timbers 0
