It was announced today that Toros Head Coach Quin Snyder "has accepted an assistant coach position with the Philadelphia 76ers under new Head Coach Doug Collins." Snyder has been ultra successful as Austin's HC boasting a 94-56 record and leading the Toros to the postseason three consecutive seasons, making the finals in 2008.
“We are thrilled for Coach Snyder and wish him nothing but success and the best of luck with the 76ers' organization,” said Toros General Manager Dell Demps. “Quin is a fantastic coach, great teacher, and a friend that I will personally miss.”
Snyder said of his time spent in Austin, "I will always be grateful to RC Buford and to Coach Pop for their support and guidance. In my capacity as the head coach of the Toros, I was also welcomed into the Spurs family and this provided me endless opportunities to learn about the game. I enjoyed the actual experience of coaching my team as much as any point in my life. For that I will always be indebted to the players that I had a privilege of coaching - some for 3 years and some for 3 weeks. Lastly, the experience of working under Dell Demps, reinforced the value of trust and friendship in a profession that can challenge you in many ways. Dell gave me the day-to-day support that makes coaching fun.”
Good luck coach, we'll miss ya.
