Round 2 of the American Hockey League West Division Finals skates into the Cedar Park Center tonight (Tuesday), Wednesday night, and Friday night for games 3-5. The Texas Stars split games one and two in Chicago vs. the Wolves with both contests being decided in overtime.
The Stars 4-3 loss on Sunday was their first of the playoffs behind the strong play of goaltender Brent Krahn. Center Warren Peters scored off Wolves goalie Peter Mannino with 54 seconds remaining in regulation to force OT. At 92 minutes and 21 seconds, it was the longest game in franchise history for Texas.
Jamie Benn, just 22, played all season for the Dallas Stars this year and is on the Texas Stars roster for the playoffs. Benn leads the squad in playoff points with eight (four goals, four assists) with center Travis Moran right behind with seven (all assists). Check out this recent article on Benn from NHL.com.
