Aztex add to the roster for Saturday night

Aztex Sign Two Additional Players

As part of their ongoing rebuilding process for 2010 the Austin Aztex are about to announce the signing of two new players: an exciting new face – defender Salif Diao-Jimenez – and the return of an old Aztex favorite, forward Jamie Watson.

Both players will be here for this Saturday night's game against Miami at 7:30pm, at Nelson Field.

Details in the Aztex press release, see below.

From an Aztex press release:

Salif Diao-Jimenez (Defender) joins the Aztex on a two year contract fresh from Stoke City’s Youth Academy. The nineteen year old is a product of the Stoke City Academy where he spent the last three years playing for the Stoke U-19 and Reserve teams. Salif is a versatile player who can play either at fullback or in midfield and was highly rated by the Stoke coaching staff. He is originally from Senegal but as dual Dutch citizenship. Salif is the cousin of Senegal Captain and Stoke City midfielder Salif Diao.

Jamie Watson (Forward) rejoins the Aztex after a highly successful season with the Wilmington Hammerheadsof USL-2. This is Jamie’s second stint with the Aztex, he was here in 2008 where he played a key role with the Division winning PDL team. During his time with Wilmington Jamie helped the Hammerheads win the USL-2 Championship and was the League’s top scorer (12 goals and 6 assists) and was selected for the USL-2 All-League Team. We welcome Jamie back home to Texas (he’s a Dallas kid) and to the Aztex.

Come out on Saturday night and join us in welcoming these two new players in the game against Miami at 7:30 pm, at Nelson Field.
