Time Warner Subscribers Miss Out on Packers/Cowboys Game

I'm sure you've heard by now. The second-biggest regular-season matchup of the season (following the Colts/Patriots tilt earlier this year) will not be available to Time Warner customers. Both teams are 10-1 and this is a huge game in the NFC playoff picture. Unlike local Texans fans, Cowboys fans are unaccustomed to their team not being shown on their home TVs, hence the uproar. Football lovers without DirecTV or Grande will have to decide whether to head to the sports bar or listen to it live on 1300 KVET-AM (or, like myself, hit up a buddy with the NFL Network).

Here's a short list of area sports bars that'll be packed to the gills with Cowboys/Packers fans:

Champions Sports Bar and Restaurant, 300 E. Fourth St., 473-0450; Warehouse Saloon & Billiards, 509 E. Ben White Blvd., 443-8799; Ringers Sports Lounge, 415 Colorado St., 495-1558; Third Base Sports Bar, 1717 W. Sixth St., 476-2273; Scholz Garden, 1607 San Jacinto Blvd., 474-1958; and the Tavern, 922 West 12th St., 320-8377.

This is a very short and incomplete list of area bars carrying the game but it'll get ya started. For more, click here. Kickoff at 7:15pm.
