Junior Roller Derby at the Texas Shootout: 2007 WFTDA Championship Tournament

Saturday, Sept. 29, roll on over to the Austin Convention Center to take part in ebullient, fishnet-burn-inducing Roller Derby bouts at the first day of the National Women's Flat Track Derby, which runs through Sunday. Flat-track leagues from all over the country will be competing for the national championship title

Significantly, Junior Flat Track Derby Association teams will have games interspersed with the big leaguers. The Seattle Derby Brats will be competing in their first-ever Austin bout, against the Tucson Derby Brats. It will be a treat to see these 10- to 16-year-old determined Derbers show off their skills on the flat track and impress their older sisters. The Junior Derby Scrimmage takes place at 12:30-1pm (first half) and 3-3:30pm (second half).

The 2007 Texas Shootout runs Saturday, Sept. 29, through Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Austin Convention Center (500 E. Cesar Chavez). Box office opens at 9am; doors open at 10am. Check out WFTDA Championship Tournament website for the full schedule.
