Freelance photographer Don Bender spent two days shooting the Texas Relays, capturing the fantastic Friday session as well as the weather-ruined Saturday session. The meet started off in its typical record-breaking magnificence, but icy rain forced many finals to be canceled, and other races were reduced to a sad-looking two or three runners. The crowd was decimated, too, the 100 or so people in the stands a pale but hardy shadow of the 18,000-20,000 that normally show up.
