Brazilian satirical thriller Property takes top award
By Richard Whittaker, 1:22PM, Tue. Sep. 26, 2023
Brazilian social thriller Property has just been announced as the big winner at Fantastic Fest, taking home the top prize for Best Picture in the main competition.
Running Sept. 21-28 at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, Fantastic Fest is a celebration of cinema's strangest, most imaginative, and provocative, and the judges decided that Daniel Bandeire's tale of a woman trapped in an armored car in the middle of a workers' revolt fit the bill precisely.
It was also a big night for Infested, the French spider invasion movie, which picked up the award for Best Horror Feature and Best Horror Director for Sébastien Vaniček.
