Mondo Launches Star Wars Timed Print for Comic Con
Hey, does this mean you can actually get an SDCC print this year?

In film nerd circles, there are people who attend San Diego Comic-Con, and those that don't. With the annual pop culture explosion canceled this year, no one gets to go, but now at least it's easier to get your hands on exclusive merch - including Austin-based Mondo's latest Star Wars print, which just arrived as a timed limited edition.
For what would have been preview night at Comic-Con (before it was hit, like everything else, by Covid-19) Mondo has just done an online drop for The Ways Of The Force, the latest from artist Martin Ansin. The throwback print is a celebration of the original film in the cycle, 1977's Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Of course, the foil variant of 325 sold out in microseconds, but you can still grab the regular version as a timed limited edition through 11:59pm Central Sunday, July 26. You can also catch a special streaming talk with Ansin at 6pm Central tonight over at the Mondo happy hour lounge.
But obviously that's not all they're releasing. Mondo has promised drops every day through Sunday, just like they would if the show was going on in-person, and they've already released some collectibles that will be filling up your shelves just today. There's a vinyl release of the score to Tales From the Loop by Philip Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan, and a multicolored Mer-Man from Masters of the Universe (a tribute to Japanese sofubi or soft vinyl toys).
For fans of Mondo's growing tiki collection, the villains of the Marvel universe get their ugly mugs turned into, well, mugs. Thanos soul variant (comes with an orange wipe glaze, $50, ltd. ed. of 250), a Symbiote variant of their Venom mug (metallic blue glaze, $55, ltd. ed. 450), and for $45 you can bring home the AIM variant of everyone's favorite deranged giant floating head, MODOK (purple glaze, ltd. ed. of 450).
Check back throughout the week at Mondo's Comic-Con "booth" for more exclusives, and follow the virtual fest at www.comic-con.org.
