Now Streaming in Austin: All Together ATX Telethon

Tune in tonight for a special online fundraiser

Welcome to Now Streaming in Austin, highlighting locally made titles to watch while self-quarantining. Some people say that America's greatest contributions to world culture are rock & roll and comics. Let's add the telethon to that, and Austin will be part of that tradition tonight with a special streaming fundraiser.

Starting at 7:30pm on Facebook, street magician and social theoretician Brian Brushwood, and novelist, longtime podcaster, and Doctor Strange co-writer C. Robert Cargill will be hosting a streaming telethon for new nonprofit All Together ATX.

The fund was co-founded by Austin Community Foundation and United Way for Greater Austin to help fund and coordinate coronavirus emergency response for those in the direst need. So far, the group has raised over $4 million with over $1 million of that from a telethon earlier this month. Tonight, industry newsletter Media ATX is gathering the local broadcast, print, and streaming outlets for another push.

That media roster includes, well, us. Yes, The Austin Chronicle is one of the media outlets that has contributed something very special to tonight's programming, alongside our media peers at Rooster Teeth, FloSports, Texas Monthly, Austin PBS, DoStuff Media, KVUE, the Daily Dot, and many others. The theme of the night is “Tell us your ‘most Austin’ Austin Story,” and do we have a few of those to tell.

But it won't just be the hardworking people who bring you your daily information. The team has some very special guests lined up for some celebrity appearances that you will not want to miss.

Tune in at 7:30pm Central tonight via Facebook for what promises to be a very special night of Austin unity. If you can, donate to All Together ATX at www.alltogetheratx.org.
