Austin Film Festival Announces Full Lineup

John Singleton and Chris Cooper to be honored

With a little over a month away until the Austin Film Festival, the AFF folks released their roster of films and panels today.

Tom Hardy as the brothers Kray in Brian Helgeland's Legend.

Director John Singleton joins actor Chris Cooper for the Extraordinary Contribution to Film and Acting Award, respectively. Singleton will host a screening of his classic film Boyz n the Hood, and Cooper will be on hand at the screening of Coming Through the Rye, in which he portrays reclusive author JD Salinger. The Opening Night film is Brian Helgeland's take on the British gangsters the Kray brothers, Legend, which stars Tom Hardy playing both brothers. The Centerpiece film is Burning Bodhi, starring Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) and Sasha Pieterse (Pretty Little Liars) as two of a group of lifelong friends who reunite after one of them dies.

AFF's impressive conference slate, including such panelists as Shane Black, John Lee Hancock, John Ridley, and Jason Reitman is already up online.

The Austin Film Festival runs Oct. 29 through Nov. 5. For badges and info see www.austinfilmfestival.com. See below for the full slate.
