Kickstart Your Weekend: 'Dead Explorer'
Alejandro Dominguez's YouTube series needs your help
By Monica Riese, 4:13PM, Fri. Aug. 2, 2013
Alejandro Dominguez, creator and host of Web series Dead Explorer, spends a lot of his time being quiet and in the dark, but he's speaking loud and clear – and in full light – about his needs for season two.
For the series, paranormal investigator Dominguez travels around the country to various haunted locales to try to shed a tiny bit of night-vision light on the stories of these places – from the Magnolia Hotel in Seguin to the USS Hornet in California. But at the end of the day, and despite almost 6,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel, it's just a passion project – and a costly one at that.
Dominguez launched a Kickstarter campaign for $4,000 in order to help defray costs as he begins shooting season two. Watch his personal appeal below, and then visit the campaign website to check out the perks for donating. With $1,116 raised of his goal so far and with only 11 days to go, he could use your help.
Kickstart Your Weekend is a series intended to showcase Texas film and tech projects that are crowdfunding their way to a goal, be it distribution, a prototype, or production costs. If you have a project that we should know about, email us at [email protected].
