'Arrested Development' Developments

By Monica Riese, July 18, 2013, 1:45pm, Picture in Picture

There was perhaps no more highly anticipated television premiere this spring than the Netflix-exclusive return of Arrested Development.

Keep the Bluth family energy rolling through the summer months with these bits of news on the show.

• First and foremost, Entertainment Weekly reported last week that showrunners were in talks with Netflix to produce a season five, despite somewhat tepid reviews among viewers this past season. We guess they're hoping there's still money in the banana stand.

• The Paramount Theatre announced yesterday the special Aug. 10 show "'Hey Brother': An Evening With Buster!"; tickets are on sale now ($30, general; $75, VIP). The VIP ticket package includes a pre-show meet and greet with actor Tony Hale. As if you needed any further incentive, the evening is to be hosted by Austin's own Owen Egerton (Everyone Says That at the End of the World).

• Last but certainly not least, Geeks Who Drink are returning to host a massive Arrested Development trivia night at Opal Divine's Penn Field (3601 S. Congress). After their successful Game of Thrones event last month, we're excited for one that involves a little less hand removal and a little more Michael Cera. Start studying up on your Bluth family trees and maritime law, then pay your $5 entry fee to two hours of nonstop GOB jokes at No Touching!: An 'Arrested Development' Quiz. It's one night only on Saturday, July 20, starting at 10pm. Visit Facebook for complete details.
