Do you have an “authentic Texan face”? If so, you might want to mosey that face over to an open casting call for Parkland, which will dramatize the day of JFK’s assassination. (Parkland refers to the Dallas hospital where President Kennedy died.) The film is set to shoot in and around Austin in January and February of 2013.

The film will be directed by Peter Landesman (who also wrote the script), is produced by Tom Hanks, and will star Billy Bob Thornton, Paul Giamatti, and Jacki Weaver. Production begins Jan. 14 and runs through Feb. 13. Brock/Allen Casting and Vicky Boone Casting are seeking “real people” for both speaking and nonspeaking roles, and by real people they mean no actors with agents.
