SXSW Film Conference Unleashes First-Wave Programming

March may seem like an awfully long ways away, but if you want to get a handle on the gajillion-strong programming choices at the 2013 SXSW Film Conference, it’s wise to start prepping now.

Just announced this afternoon is a snapshot of the upcoming conference. (The entire lineup will be announced in early 2013.) Two added tracks this year are the Startup Alley, which brings together startup, entrepreneur, and investor communities to spitball about emergent trends and to demo fledgling products and projects, and the Come & Capture Film Factory, a hands-on track dedicated to “the newest tools for capturing and creating content.”

Also teased today were two dozen workshops, panels, and Digital Domain programming, featuring locals Turk Pipkin and Karen Kocher and national/international figures like Alex Winter (possibly you know him better as Bill S. Preston, Esquire, or more recently as a Paul Ryan doppelgänger?), Dan Kois (a lively pop culture critic who nevertheless might as well stencil cultural vegetables mwah on his headstone now), and the team behind Aussie post-apocalypse planned web series Wastelander Panda.
