RZA Sez: 'It's (Nearly) Your Birthday, Jim Jarmusch!'

Happy (almost) birthday to Jim Jarmusch, no stranger to paradise!

We watched Stranger Than Paradise over the weekend and ended up so engrossed in the John Lurie Experience that we nearly spaced on Jim Jarmusch's upcoming birthday on January 22, always a cause for much celebration around our casa.

Jarmusch almost single-handedly created our indie-cinematic scene, and salutations are definitely in order.

Here's one of The Chronicle's several Jim Jarmusch interviews/reviews from days past. Hopefully, it reminds everyone that long before there was insta-cool or ultra-hip online, Jim Jarmusch put a 35mm spell on you that cannot be reversed. Happy Birthday Party, Jim Jarmusch. Coffee and Cigarettes for everyone!
