What is true meaning of Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanzaa/etc? Duh. If this season is about anything, it's about rearranging your prior engagements so that you can hit up even more engagements and thereby possibly be prioritized to get some by the end of the night. (Don't lie, single people. You so know it's true.) Get thee to the Mohawk tonight!
We realize you thought you were going to the Man or Astro-man? gig at Emo's this evening and, truth be told, we thought we were, too. We still might go. Hell, you still might go! Here's a thought: why don't we go together, after we go the The Mohawk to kick in some minor green for some major vermillion at their fundraiser for director Lindsey Alloway's upcoming feature film Postmodern Undead? You'll look more festive with fake blood all over you and you'll be tipsy enough to sing along to the band in the sardine can that will, most certainly, be Emo's.
Seriously. Doors are at "666" pm and a paltry $8 gets you, bandwise, Boy + Kite, Scorpion Child, Back Alley Music Review, and El Abuso. As if that weren't enough, our good friends Dolls From the Crypt are putting in an appearance to support this uber-worthy "blood drive." And, frankly, what's cooler than rock 'n' roll, hot dead babes, and vampiric shenanigans at Festivustime? Nothing, that's what. Not even a frozen Elmo under your tree.
Of course, we're not promising that you'll win the silent auction or hook up with the bloodsucker of your dreams and/or nightmares, but then again, who knows? Man or Astro-man? aren't going on until after midnight anyway. Anything could happen...
