If KUT is an integral part of your morning drive, or KLRU is your go-to for smart, impassioned television programming, then you're going to want to tip your hat to Bob Schenkkan.
A pioneer in public broadcasting and a professor of Radio/Television/Film at UT, Schenkkan passed away Wednesday afternoon. KUT’s Ben Philpott did a fine tribute on today’s evening commute – including a story about how Schenkkan craftily helped boost the station’s bandwidth in its early days (it involves Americans’ abiding love for Coke).
