The Austin Film Festival just announced this year’s recipient of the Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Award – a pretty familiar troublemaker in these environs.

Robert Rodriguez, writer/director/producer/composer/FX whiz/Troublemaker Films co-founder/ unstoppable hyphenate, will receive AFF’s 2010 Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Award, following in the footsteps of previous honorees Ron Howard, Danny Boyle, and Oliver Stone, to name a few. Rodriguez will accept the award at AFF’s Award Luncheon held on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Austin Club.
