Hey Southwest, It's 'Silent Bob,' Not 'Too Fat to Fly Bob'

Southwest Airlines kicks director Kevin Smith off flight for being oversized

Kevin Smith to Southwest Airlines:
Kevin Smith to Southwest Airlines: "Satan!!"

In what will doubtless prove to be the source of endless withering japes at Southwest Airlines' expense, portly filmmaker (and honorary Austinite/slash/all-around kickass dude) Kevin Smith was booted off a weekend SWA flight for breaking -- or maybe not? -- the heavy flyguy rules.

Which, of course, resulted in this, this, this (from Southwest Airlines), and this (from the Dallas Morning News). And trust us, there's, um, tons more.

We usually love Southwest Airlines, like, a lot (they're waaay more entertaining than even Aussie-made Quantas parodies featuring extremely obscure independent Austrailian film references) but we think they blew it big (ouch!) time, this time.

How huge (damn!) a gaff? You'll have to check out Smith's upcoming gig at the Long Center on Thurs., March 4, to find out for sure, but we're betting SWA won't be seeing much love from the View Askewniverse anytime soon. Snootch to the bootch indeed.
