Ladies and Gentlemen (and Deer) ... The Highball!
Highball opens
By Marc Savlov, 9:46PM, Wed. Sep. 23, 2009
Fantastic Fest Day Zero kicked off with a press screening of Zombieland and the grand opening of The Highball, bowling alley/bar/karaoke heaven/Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar adjunct, and -- whoa! -- deer, lasers, and enough crimson vinyl to outfit Winger, Warrant, and Whitesnake!
We're off to the Alamo Ritz for Jess Franco's Eugenie: The Story of Her Descent Into Perversion right now, so allow us to be succinct in our initial review of Zombieland (while simultaneously quoting the pack of Aussies sitting in front of us): "Fuck yeah, that rocked!"
And...we're off!
