Where the Girls Go/ATX: December Chill Edition
Queertastic grrrl events this weekend, and every weekend.

We’re baaack – still full from last week’s fest of food and disheartened with the current state of affairs. No, not Katherine Heigl’s new show, we knew that would be disappointing… .
From Mike Brown to Eric Garner, the chill of autumn has turned cold. Tonight, you can show solidarity at the Travis County Courthouse, then take time for self care and queer love for the rest of this weekend.

Friday: Break out the bowties and lace, because tonight Lesbutante & the Boss is daring us to get fancy and dancy for their first birthday. A white party in Austin calls for a dapper night at The Gatsby.
Suggestion: It’s free, it’s fancy, and over 300 queers have RSVP’d. Clearly, this is where the girls will be going tonight.

Saturday: Don’t fight the fog tonight. Instead embrace it with a wintery dance party that promises sleigh bells, baby Yay-Zooz, and dreidels all rolled into one sultry mix. That’s right, Cap’n Tits and Iron Mike cut deep into the dance floor of Cheer Ups.
Suggestion: Let that sultry sink deep into your bones.

Sunday: We’ve already established that – in Austin – Sunday is no day to rest. So today, frolic through your city. Swing by Bookwoman for the Fourth Annual Austin Writer Grrls Book Festival. Expect merry making of all kinds including snacks, toasts, and local lady writers. After all that, we hear there’s some unicorn craziness taking over Rain’s stage.
Suggestion: It’s been a long, hard couple of weeks, let today be your escape.
Get a second helping of gayness at The Gay Place, and to follow us – Where The Girls Go/ATX – for all yer queer grrrl needs. Take care of one another, bbs.
A note to readers: Bold and uncensored, The Austin Chronicle has been Austin’s independent news source for over 40 years, expressing the community’s political and environmental concerns and supporting its active cultural scene.
