Where the Girls Go/ATX: Extreme Weather Edition

Queertastic grrrl events this weekend, and every weekend.

Baby, it’s cold outside. But just because the temperature has decided to take a nosedive into winter – Fall? Where are you, Fall? – doesn’t mean we’re staying in. So bundle yourself tighter, drink a hot toddy, and get ready for a leztastic weekend.

Friday: Tonight it’s all about queens, screams, and… clowns? Yup, I don’t like those “funny faces” either, but Poo Poo Platter is revamping a special spooktacular drag-off between the pageant kweens and Platter performers. Halloween might be long gone, but Poo Poo Platter is just getting warmed up.

Suggestion: Between the performers, the DJs Girlfriend and Young Creature, and a VIP OUTsider badge giveaway, you’re $5 cover will basically pay for itself.

Saturday: While the whole weekend if filled with EAST activities, tonight’s events at Puro Chingon Collective warm our hearts the most. With an actual moon bounce, they might literally be warmed from jumping; not to mention the taco truck, piñata making (?!?!), and tequila.

Suggestion: This party runs from 8pm to midnight. What better way to kick off yer Saturday night?

Sunday: Spend the day sipping margaritas and dancing with the ladies of Susan Arbuckle Band. Yup, it’s a monthly afternoon dance party for the female-minded. Once the drinks stop flowing, walk yerself to Rain for an “angelic and visceral vocal-driven avant pop” performance by Lily Taylor.

Suggestion: Between day drinking margaritas and avant pop, you’ll forget this cold weather spell any moment now.

Want some extra gay? Visit The Gay Place, and to stay looped in on the grrrls, follow Where The Girls Go/ATX. Love ya, lads and ladies.
