Music Mo'nday: April 30

By Rob Cohen, April 30, 2012, 1:06pm, Qmmunity

People of Earth, how are you? You look like you need your musical fix. Zou Bisou Bisou!

By now, I'm sure you've all heard of the recent 2Pac hologram at Coachella. I'm fine with it as a one-off novelty, but it's a slippery slope to your favorite dead rock stars becoming those scary robot bear bands at kiddie pizza places.

T-Boz and Chilli – two names you thought you'd never hear again – are planning a TLC reunion tour, complete with a Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez hologram. Take your own advice TLC, and "Keep it on the down low." Nobody asked for this, nobody wants this, and it's just creepy. Did you hear that? That was the plop into the toilet. Here is "C.R.E.E.P." by The Fall instead:

Speaking of reunions, you can take the gladioli out of your back pockets, The Smiths are not re-uniting. Anyone fooled by this brief hubbub is not a real fan. In the meanwhile, two other iconic "Smiths" are still kicking for you nostalgia hoes: We already heard from Mark E. Smith in the Fall video above, now, let's do some Robert Smith:

Finally, a song I like with the word "hologram" in it:

Music has been doing the recycle and reuse thing for years. Maybe it's time for a reduce? If there is a John Lennon hologram, I will shoot it myself.

Next week: An interview with Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart.
